HONG KONG IGNORED BY THRILLIST’S BEST STREET FOOD CITIES
Despite being one of the world foodies capital, our street food is no match compared to others according to Thrillist. How sad this is especially when HK archival Singapore is taking the crown back home.
According to Thrillist, “Street food is the true fuel of the people, and there’s no better way to get to know a country’s cuisine than by hitting up a food stall and digging into a home-style meal. With a combination of personal experience, advice from experienced travelers, and research on cultural food traditions, we’ve put together a ranking of the 16 best street-food cities in the world. And while basically every major city in Southeast Asia had a shot at being #1, read on to find out whether the city that serves tacos, dumplings, or grilled cow udders is the king of the street-food world”.
Cities like Istanbul, Tokyo, Mumbai, Marrakesh, Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok, and Singapore certainly deserves to be in the top spot but I really don’t understand why Hong Kong is not included while cities like London are.
I love Hong Kong street food from his Dai Pai Dongs serving amazing fried rice to dumpling. You really get the best from everywhere in China and we do not lack variety of dishes and global influences. I would love to invite Thrillist to come over and sample true HK delicacies.
