KOREAN GARDEN RESTAURANT
Prior to moving to Hong Kong 4 years ago, I never had the opportunity to try out Korean food. Since I really started to enjoy the world of Kimchi. Hong Kong is surfing on a modern Korean food trend like with places like Takorea, I really wanted to try out the real version of Korean food.
Who better to ask than my Korean american friend Daniel who brought us to what he considers authentic Korean food. He gave us one precious advice: “it’s gonna smell so bring appropriate clothes”. The place was packed and smelly thanks to the individual bbq on each and every table. The food was great and we ordered like their was no tomorrow.
After waiting for a good 20 min for our table, we sat down and ordered a couple of beers. Daniel took care of ordering what he felt was best as an introduction. We were immediately served with a bunch of side orders like kimchi, some dried fish. Completely ignorant we just start eating them not knowing they were sides to eat with the dishes.
Everything was very good from the sea food sweet potato noodles, to the amazing marinated grilled beef and the seafood pancake. My personal favorite was the spicy calamari dish served with noodle who sucked the sauce. Simply delicious.
I loved the atmosphere where the bbq plays a massive role in building in building this nice casual but smelly atmosphere. The weird part of the place was its christmas decoration in the middle of June but would really care about this with food that good.
