I have been passing by Linguini Fini every day for the last few months but never had the opportunity to check it out which I did today over lunch. Linguini Fini is American Italian inspired concept and the third venture, after Posto Publico and Stone Nullah Tavern, by the guys behind Home Grown Food who are strong advocate for farm to table products and as such proudly make their own fresh pasta, something that I do appreciate as you can taste the difference.
Linguini Fini’s atmosphere is great, I love the rough industrial decor with these oversized tomato can used as table stools, a few touches from NYC where their inspiration of both in and out of the kitchen comes from and the open kitchen where you can check out the chefs at work as well as a pasta drying out.
The set lunch offered by Linguini Fini featuring three different sets is great. I opt for the LF classic set which include the antipasti buffet and a choice of 4 pasta and one choice of pizza.
The antipasti buffet is nice with a selection of cold cuts and a few simple but tasty salads like grilled eggplants, roast pumpkins, some gorgonzola cheese which is perfect to finish of your lunch. As for the main, I decided to opt for the Diavola Dried Shrimp infused linguini fini. In my opinion, the main was somewhat a let down as, despite knowing it would be spicy, it was way too spicy and you could not taste anything else. On the positive side, the pasta themselves where perfectly cooked with the right amount of crunch.
I guess another visit will be necessary to try out some of their other pasta dishes.
