Passion by Gerad Dubois Inside

Being on a slight rush over lunchtime, I went to new addition of Passion by Gerard Dubois on Lyndhurst Terrace for a quick take away of one of my favorite lunch, a nice sandwich.

Finding great sandwich is not an easy task in Hong Kong as most places either offer a cheap sandwich on the go or a more elaborated one with a serious mark up in price. Passion by Gerard Dubois really filled the gap of good value for money. It’s the perfect place for healthy and fresh lunch at a very decent price.

Gerard Dubois also the owner of La Rose Noire picked the name of his new venture from his lifelong passion for quality ingredients. This is visible as soon as you enter the bakery with fresh bread, baguettes on display. Everything looks really appetizing from salads to dessert.

Not being a big fan of salad, I quickly turned my attention to the various sandwiches on offer. How could I possibly choose between the roast beef, the chicken tikka or the more classic the Parisien? All of them are carefully prepared with a different type of in house bread for each of them. I finally selected the hot BBQ pulled pork sandwich filled with arugula, shallots and perfectly cooked BBQ pulled pork. Everything was really nice with all the flavors coming through. For 48 HKD, I really consider it has a bargain but for big appetite like mine it was not enough and had to go for a pastry.Pull Pork Sandwich

The pastry choice was equally impressive from Mont Blanc to lemon tart. All the classic French pastries were beautifully displayed. I pick up the mango Month Blanc, a pastry of puree and sweetened chestnuts and whipped cream which was slightly disappointing as the biscuit base was to small and the mango taste not coming through. On the other hand, the chestnut puree was good and I had the right amount of whipped cream.
